Birdman Randy & The Ivory Street Preachers’ modus operandi is to deliver the songs we all know and love, ‘re-envisioned’. The five piece are known to stylistically shift pop-classics into Latino-dance grooves, R’nB club bangers into swing jazz.
 
It is this ‘Birdman Randy sound’ that sets them apart from other acts. The band has an ever evolving 6 hour set which ranges from instrumental dinner music to no-holds-barred d-floor bangers.
 
Birdman Randy & The Ivory Street Preachers are fast becoming Brisbane’s freshest live entertainment act. Formed in 2014, each member was headhunted from groups around Brisbane to form the in-house band at the Flying Cock.
 
They pride themselves on shaking off the stiff ‘corporate band’ image, bringing their unique freshness along with decades of songwriting and multi-instrumentalist skills to the stage.
 
The past 12 months has seen the band go from strength to strength, constantly pulling a capacity crowd to The Flying Cock and finding their way onto line-ups supporting international touring acts (including Daryl Braithwaite), at large scale gala events (Brisbane Broncos Season Launch, Griffith Gold Coast University Guild Ball, QUT Law Ball) and festivals (James Street Urban Picnic).
